Biography

Michael Franchi began his full-time editorial career after joining the photographic team of News Limited’s NT News in late 2010, where he has made the most of the opportunities in the Northern Territory.

The most memorable assignments during his time at the NT News include the traditional burial of indigenous footballer, Maurice Rioli, the Edith River train derailment, and locating the horny pig of remote community Gunbalanya.

Michael enjoys the challenges of news photography, and the privilage of meeting and interacting with the people of Australia and capturing their story.
